Greve in Chianti<\/em> is the largest town in the Chianti Classico wine zone, an area that corresponds to the oval-shaped territory lying between Florence and Sienna, known historically\u00a0 as “Chianti”. This area of vineyards, olive groves and forest-covered hills has long been the mecca for holidaymakers visiting Tuscany and our website is packed with useful information about Greve and the surrounding areas of Chianti.<\/p>\n

The main road through Chianti from Florence to Sienna, is the Via Chiantigiana<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, one of the most popular motoring routes in Italy, and Greve in Chianti lies right on this road where it intersects with the road joining the Val d’Arno<\/strong><\/span><\/a> with Badia Passignano<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 1997, the Greve in Chianti website became the first website to list owner-direct accommodations for tourists in and near Greve<\/strong>, Panzano<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Lamole<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and Montefioralle<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. It continues to this day to be your best source of quality holiday homes and vacation rental apartments in Chianti because our webmaster regularly inspects every property we list.<\/p>\n

Our website lists the dates for all of the important festivals<\/strong> that take place in Greve, including an important Chianti Classico wine festival and an excellent antiques fair. Every Saturday morning there is a good produce and hardware market in Piazza Matteotti where you can buy your weekly supplies, clothes, hardware and many other items at good prices. For other days of the week, Greve is well supplied with food outlets, including a Coop supermarket.<\/p>\n

Accommodations are available within Greve itself as well as up in the surrounding hills. You are more likely to find a swimming pool attached to your holiday home if it is more than 750 m from the town centre, but Greve has an excellent public pool complex.<\/p>\n
