Don’t forget, if you’re staying in the Chianti countryside you’ll rarely be more than a one hour drive from Florence and Sienna where there are usually excellent exhibitions in progress. During the summer of 2012, there is an exhibition of Renaissance Majolica at the Bargello, Florence<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and that’s just a single example.<\/p>\n

If your accommodation lacks a swimming pool, there are some excellent public swimming pools available, including the public swimming pool in Greve in Chianti<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Read wall posters and visit the local tourist information office for local festivals. Two great examples are the Mediaeval week at Volterra<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and the Mediaeval fair and battle re-enactments at Monteriggioni<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
