| The last blacksmith of the village had a "bottega", a workshop, here. He forged horseshoes and hoops for the oak barrels of the celebrated Chianti . . . The townspeople called him "il moro" , the moor, perhaps because of the black soot that covered his face, and the place is still known as "la bottega del moro", the workshop of the moor. |
