2008 Summer Music Programme

Lamole Summer classical music concert programme

taking place mainly in the church of Lamole itself.

Summer 2008 programme of operatic arias
sung by pupils of Daniel Ferro of New York

and taking place in Churches and other locations in and around Greve.

There is a weekly market in the main piazza (Piazza Matteotti) of Greve every Saturday morning, lasting until about 1 pm.

Frittelle festival on the Sunday following St Joseph's day (15 - 16 March 2008). in nearby Montefioralle - walk up to the castle and enjoy fried rice cakes. More about Montefioralle.

Antiques and collectors' fair twice a year - on Easter Monday (24 March, 2008) and Sunday 12 October, 2008 (usually the second Sunday of October). More about the Greve in Chianti antiques fair.

Flower festival :: 3 - 4 May 2008

Chianti Classico wine festival - every year on second weekend of September and the preceding Friday, 12 - 14 Sept 2008. On Friday, the festival starts at about 5 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday at about 11 am and the stands close at about 8 pm. The idea is that you buy a wine glass from the Segretaria and are then free to taste any and all wines offered at the stands. I have heard but not seen that they can run out of glasses.

Grape harvest - the date varies from year to year depending on the ripeness of the grapes, but the vintage usually takes place in late September or early October. An extremely interesting time to be around.
